The peaceful/powerful/emotional punch of this song was too inspirational. I had to share the scene Hiatus painted in my mind, though I have no idea where a story of the boy came from. My favorite element of this Words + Music is listening to the varied interpretations of the story from my viewers. The first time I heard this song, the scene that I saw in my head was that of a man driving his dog to the doctor to be put down. The image I saw in was him adjusting the rear-view mirror to get a better look at his dog, lying in the back seat. He’d think of all the memories they had together, and maybe stop at the beach on the way.
It was a fine scene to tell, but the more I thought about it, the more I thought about my own dogs, past and present. And then I remembered, so clearly, those two car rides from my childhood. Read more over at the blog: Oversky Companion.

The “asteroid” shown in the beginning is actually Hyperion, one of Saturn’s moon (which is 1.2 billion km from Earth). The images were captured by the Cassini-Huygens spacecraft (Courtesy NASA/JPL-Caltech) and you can explore thousands of images taken by the spacecraft.
